Mundani Farmers’ Cooperative Society Benefited From Alternative Livelihood Support

The Mundani Farmers’ Cooperative benefited from piglets donated by the Association for Biodiversity Conservation and Rural Development (ABCARD). The donation event took place on the 1st of May 2021 in Muea where the piglets were purchased. The piglets were handed over by Mr Enokenwa Allen Tabi the General Coordinator of ABCARD to Mr. Tayem Solomon, the Vice President of the cooperative who thanked ABCARD for the laudable initiative. He said the donation will be of great importance especially during this period of COVID 19 and sociopolitical crisis that has greatly affected local populations around the Tofala Hill Wildlife Sanctuary (THWS). He assured that, the piglets received will generate income for the cooperative and the local community. This will go a long way to reduce the impact of farmers and hunters on threatened species of wildlife especially Cross River gorilla and Nigeria-Cameroon chimpanzee and their habitat.
